A fully fledged Islamic integrated school fully owned by KMCS is operational in Garissa. It comprises of a secular school with an adult education component, a Mosque and Qur’an Recitation Centre (Tahfidh Qur’an) among other facilities. Four other centers also exist at 9KR and 3 KR military camps in Eldoret and Nakuru, Isiolo town, Wajir ADC and at Deka Buur in Garissa.
An integrated boarding high school, wholly owned by KMCS is coming up at KANTAFU, 40km from Nairobi along Kangundo road, Machakos county. Basic infrastructure is already in place, now in the final preparation for its launch.
Over the years the Muslim dominated areas have lacked trained health workers. A faith-based institution, NEP College of Health Sciences owned by KMCS and individual health professionals who are also members of the organization has been operational at Garissa since 2010. The college offers courses in Nursing, Nutrition, Community Health, Community Development, House Keeping & Bakery among others. Other courses and shall be offered in the near future when more facilities will be in place.
A 10-acre piece of land for the college is under development already with classrooms, skills laboratory, hostels, mosque among other facilities. The organization is in talks with various partners on further developments such as a teaching hospital, administration block, more lecturer halls, staff housing, hostels, etc. Some departments are being housed at the new site while others are being conducted at rented premises in town.
The college serves the whole of northern region and part of coast in addition to the large refugee population of Dadaab, Garissa county. Several UN organizations sponsor students to undertake courses at the college.
