Northern Kenya is an arid region that suffers perennial droughts and lack of water. Nearly 100% of the inhabitants are Muslims and many endure abject poverty. KMCS dug, capped and fitted hand pumps many shallow wells at Wajir, Garissa and Madogo of North Eastern and Coast provinces respectively. The wells provide the communities with clean drinking water both for people and their livestock in addition to minor farming.
